About Me
Hi, I’m Julia Powers, founder of Nurture and Connect. I am a birth doula, certified postpartum doula, and VBAC trained doula serving families across Lansing and throughout Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton counties.
I accept several Michigan Medicaid plans including McLaren, Aetna, HAP, United Healthcare, Molina, Meridian, and Blue Cross Complete, helping make birth and postpartum doula support accessible to more families.
As a mother of four and grandmother of seven, I bring both personal experience and professional training to the families I support.
I provide calm, evidence based support during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum transition. Services may include prenatal visits, continuous labor support, breastfeeding guidance, newborn care education, and postpartum recovery support.
In addition to doula care, I am a Community Health Worker, Certified Lactation Specialist, CPR certified, and a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST), helping families feel informed, supported, and confident as they welcome their new baby.
If you are looking for a doula in the Lansing area, I would love to connect and support your family.

Services
In-home and virtual appointments
Nurture and Connect provide mothers and families with emotional, physical, and educational support during & after childbirth in the comfort of their own home or virtual.

Guide Birth Prep Package
Support without pressure. Guidance without overwhelm.
Not everyone wants a full birth doula package. You may want support, education, and reassurance, but still prefer a more private birth experience with just you and your partner.
If you have Medicaid, you may qualify for covered prenatal and postpartum support visits. I can help you check eligibility and understand your options.
Let’s Get You Supported
You do not have to figure this out alone.

Postpartum Care
Postpartum Doula Support
The weeks after birth are a time of healing, adjustment, and getting to know your baby. As a postpartum doula serving families in Lansing and across Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton Counties, I provide calm, compassionate support with newborn care, feeding, and postpartum recovery so parents can rest, heal, and grow in confidence. My care is evidence based and always tailored to your family's unique needs during the early weeks with your new baby.
